1Who this is from
I am Eddie Boothby. I built BoothbysWorkShop.com (“the site”) by myself and I run it by myself. This page explains what the site keeps, why, and what you can do about it. I do not sell your information.
2What the site keeps
- Contact form, requests and the Flowmies wall: the name, email and message you choose to send. Wall shout-outs are checked by an automatic word filter and then read by me before anything shows. A shout-out the filter refuses is not saved. Only a count of refusals is kept, never the words.
- Mailing list: your email address, only if you sign up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Tribe membership: if you join, your email address, the Tribe name you pick and a password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash, so I cannot read it. Your email is private: only I can see it, and only your Tribe name can ever appear on the site, for example next to a shout-out you post while signed in. If you tick the box to join the mailing list when you sign up, your email is also added there. If you save a project in a tool, only its settings are kept, never your audio. To slow down guessing and spam, sign-up and sign-in attempts are counted against your address for a short time.
- Song activity: when a song is played, played to the end, skipped early, liked or unliked, the site counts it. A visitor is only a code that changes every day. No address is kept.
- Emoji reactions: the emoji you pick and an approximate place (your state and country, or region and country outside the United States) worked out from your IP address, shown as a floating label. If you are signed in to the Tribe, the label shows your Tribe name instead. You can hide your place. Your exact IP address is not published.
- Drop it clips: a clip you record is made in your own browser. If you choose to send it to the Clips Archive, the video file and its caption are kept and may be shown on the clips wall. To limit abuse, an upload counter is kept against a scrambled form of your address, not the address itself.
- Visitor counter and basic logs: a running visit count and the standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time), kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, your browser’s subscription token, so I can message you. You can turn it off any time in your browser.
- On your device: settings such as your look-and-feel choices are stored in your browser. They do not leave your device unless a feature says so.
- Phone tilt: on a phone, the site can read how you tilt it to move the 3D view. This is read in your browser to move the picture and is never sent to me. You can turn it off in the menu.
3My tools run in your browser
The audio and video tools work on your own device. The audio files you open in them, and the clips and videos they make, are not uploaded to my server and are not stored. Close the page and the work is gone unless you save it as a member. A saved project holds settings only. A tool only sends something to me if it says so on its own button, as the clips archive does.
4Services the site uses
A location lookup service turns your IP address into a state and country for emoji labels. If you use share buttons, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram or similar services receive what you choose to share and apply their own policies. The site does not run advertising trackers.
6Your choices
Email me at Info@BoothbysWorkShop.com, use the contact form, or use the Delete my data page to see, correct or delete what I hold about you. Unsubscribe from email with the link in any message. Members can change their password, leave the mailing list or delete their account from their Tribe panel.
7Data controller and EU and UK rights (GDPR)
I am the data controller: Eddie Boothby, operating BoothbysWorkShop.com. This is a small site run by one person. It does not watch people at large scale and does not handle sensitive categories of data, so a Data Protection Officer is not required. Privacy questions come straight to me at Info@BoothbysWorkShop.com. I process data on these bases: your consent (mailing list, notifications, your account, messages you send), and my legitimate interest in running and securing the site (server logs, counter, song activity, reactions, keeping the wall safe). If you are in the EU or UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Data may be processed in the United States.
8Children
Young fans visit the site, so I keep the Flowmies wall filtered and I ask everyone not to share personal details there. A Tribe membership is for people 13 and older, and anyone under 18 should ask a parent or guardian first. The site is not directed at children under 13 and I do not knowingly collect their information. If you are a parent and think a child has joined, write to me and I will remove the account.
9A site that is growing
BoothbysWorkShop.com keeps growing. Later I may add paid memberships, purchases and other ways to take part. Before that goes live I will update this page to explain what extra information is involved, such as order and payment details. Payment card details would be handled by a payment provider and not stored on this site.
10Security and changes
Private data is kept outside the public web folder. No system is perfectly secure. I may update this policy at any time and I will change the date above when I do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept it. For big changes that affect member accounts or purchases I will put a notice on the site.
